Curriculum Mapping:

Curriculum mapping is a system that thematically aligns assessment, curriculum and instruction.  Curriculum maps explore the primary elements of curriculum including what is taught, how instruction occurs and when instruction is delivered.  Curriculum maps also provide a process for collecting data that identifies the core content, processes and assessments used in curriculum for each subject area in order to improve communication and instruction in all areas of the curriculum.
