Question: What is the purpose of this program?

Answer: The purpose of the English to Speakers of Other Languages Program is to help students who come from backgrounds where languages other than American English are spoken. The program helps these students acquire both conversational and classroom English so that they can be successful in school. We work with our students daily in reading, writing, listening, and speaking as set by the WIDA standards. WIDA is a consortium of states dedicated to the design and implementation of high standards and equitable educational opportunities for English learners.https://wida.wisc.edu/
