Railroad Crossing Closure to Begin Dec. 6 on Highway 341/SR 27

Since traffic will not be allowed to cross the track until work is complete, significant bus delays are expected to and from the following schools: Sterling Elementary, Jane Macon Middle, Brunswick High, Glyndale Elementary, Golden Isles Elementary, Glynn Learning Center and Coastal Academy. The railroad closure will also impact special needs transportation districtwide, as well as traffic flow in the area.

Our Transportation Department has been alerted and is making the necessary adjustments to routes to preserve the safety of our students. Should we need to make a change in our other routes, we will communicate that with you as soon as possible. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the road will tentatively reopen by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10.

Parents are asked to be patient and understanding of the significant delays that will occur with bus transportation. Please be sure your child arrives at the designated bus stop at least 10 minutes ahead of schedule as we make every effort possible to stay on schedule. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Transportation Department at 912-267-4124.
