Summer Lunch Program available at no cost to children

Starting Monday, June 1, the Glynn County Schools Nutrition Department will offer breakfast and lunch to children ages 18 years and younger through USDA’s Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program ensuring that all children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Much like our current drive-thru model (GCSS Meal Distribution Services), the Summer Feeding Program will host five sites – Altama Elementary, Brunswick High, Burroughs-Molette Elementary, Satilla Marsh Elementary and Sterling Elementary. Meals will be distributed from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the months of June and July.

The Summer Feeding Menu is posted on our district website.  Menus may change based on availability of products.  Meal packages will include some ready-to-eat items and some heat-n-serve items.  All products are fully cooked and heating instructions will be provided.  Meals will be prepared by the Glynn County Schools Nutrition Department and delivered to the sites at no cost to children.
